Homemade Christmas Gifts

0

So many people are so busy today with working, often more than one job and then there is family to consider and sometimes even school. Days are jam packed and there isn’t much time to spare, if any.

When Christmas time comes rolling along and you want to give those on your list something that they will appreciate, enjoy, and remember while respecting your small budget why not go homemade? The great thing about these types of gifts is that you don’t have to wait until the last minute and you don’t have to spend a fortune either. You will be giving away something homemade which means that you put forth effort, love, and thought. These gifts are very special and very much appreciated by those who don’t have the time to make homemade gifts.

Very inexpensively you can make little potpourri sacks as gifts. These can be wrapped in a nice festive box and the receiver will hang them on a hanger with their clothes or put them in a drawer to scent them. They are very easy to make and can be made far in advance. Give each person about four and tie them up with some nice fancy ribbons.

Who wouldn’t love some homemade fudge for a Christmas gift? Even the children can help with this job by melting the chocolate. If stored in a cool place the fudge can be made in advance. Get fancy by sprinkling some coconut or chopped nuts on top of some of the fudge. Package it in holiday boxes and it will surely be an appreciated gift, especially for the sweet tooth lover.

What about a tasty treat for grandad or your dad? Think homemade toffee. Using only some water, butter, golden syrup, and a bit of vinegar you are on your way to a well remember homemade Christmas gift that is aimed to please. Christmas toffee is always an old favourite. Once the toffee is cooled, you break up the pieces and put them into a jar or a gift box. Make your own homemade label. You can even get creative and create labels that look just like a festive bauble.

Why not take those special photos that are so treasured but yet have been stashed away just collecting dust and bring them back to life again? Create a special memories album make an ideal Christmas gift as you have gathered together many special memories. You don’t have to limit the memory album to just pictures either, the album can include anything that triggers that special memory and brings it back to life. All you need is a few items that you likely already have lying around the house to get started.

One final idea is to give dried flowers and decorated candles as Christmas gifts. Candles always add some glamour to a room. Cheap and regular candles look drab. You can make posh candles from those ten cent candlesticks with little effort or cost. They really are perfect gifts. Gather together a few cheap household items such as sequins, beads and maybe some confetti and you will have the most beautiful Christmas giving candles in no time.
