Gifting is an activity that shows one’s love and care for their friends and family. Gifting does not always call for spending. You do not always have to empty your pockets in order to gift people. Here are a few tips in order to make your own gifts. These gifts may be free of cost or affordable ones.

Make a collection of free gifts

By being a member of the drug store rebate programs and other reward programs, you receive free gifts throughout the year like hair care items, body care items, food items, oral care, dental care, first-aid items, cosmetics and bath items. Collect all these items and make your own collection of gifts in a manner you like. Make a creative basket to accumulate the collection. You may gift your friends and family with the collection you have made putting them in the basket you have designed. A simple basket may cost you as low as £1.

Earn your gifts by spending your time

A number of websites these days offer free stuffs like surveys, contests, signing up for trial memberships and other activities that calls for your contribution. These sites offer a lot of gifts, gift coupons, gift cards, and many freebies that can be collected for your gifting purposes. Remember you only have to spend your time for all these gifts.

Re-gifting or Recycling gifts

Usually when attending parties and other fun get-together activities, you might come down with some gifts and prizes (in case of parties that conduct games). You can even consider re-gifting this gift or the collection of gifts for your purpose. Make sure that these gifts are presented to a different circle of friends or relatives. For instance when you are gifted in a party held by your colleagues, think of re-gifting these presents to your neighbours or family members. In this way you can make sure that your recycled gifts are not identified.

Gifting is an activity that expresses one’s love and care on others. It does not mean heavy spending on expensive items. A simple card can express your love and care. The very fact that you remember your mom’s birthday or your friend’s wedding day or any other occasion can make them happy.

So never concentrate on the cost of the gift. Go for the one that would impress as often simple things are more impressive.

When it comes to giving gifts, you don’t necessarily have to splash a few quid to make a splash. Some of the best things in life are free. One thing to bear in mind with free gifts—since you’re not going to be dazzling them with how much you spend, you’d better make sure your gifts are thoughtful and, if at all possible, original as well.

This may sound inordinately corny, but the best source of free gifts is your imagination. You must consider the interests and preferences of the recipient first and foremost, and tailor your gift to their personality. With free gifts, not only is it the thought that counts, but it’d better count—its’ just about all you’re giving, so make it a good one.

The Gift Book

One gift that can be dazzling, effective and dirt-cheap is the coupon book. While you mi9ght at first be taken aback and believe that such a gift just screams “I’m destitute” or “I’m a cheapskate” it doesn’t have to. A coupon book that’s carefully wrought and wittily designed, full of coupons for activities your friend or loved one will appreciate, can score you big points.

Of course, you have to know what the recipient likes and doesn’t like. Even if you are a licensed massage therapist, don’t give a gift of massage coupons to a friend who doesn’t like people touching them. On the other hand, if your dad knows you hate fishing, giving him a book of coupons, each of which is good for one fishing trip, will really show him how much you care, far more than spraying money around would.

The Special Service Agreement

If you have a special skill, such as teaching yoga or fixing computers or coaching dancers—the best gift you can give may well be what you know best. If you are an excellent cook, perhaps specializing in Indian food, give your cooking enthusiast friend cooking lessons.

If your mom is determined to get in shape and just needs that extra push, and her doctor are doubly determined she get in shape, offer to train with her. You could even offer to coach her, if you know what you’re doing when it comes to working out, and you’re knowledgeable enough when it comes to both exercise and the details of her health to be useful.

The Special Event

If you know what kind of music they like, or their taste in theatre or sport, you may well find the ideal gift would be to take your friend or loved one to an event. There are many worthwhile free events in any major city. If you don’t happen to live in a major city then it may be a bit of a drive but at least it will impart the advantage that your recipient is likely to be unaware of what’s on offer.

Here’s an example. You may not be able to afford as season ticket for your brother to his favourite football club, especially if they’re a big club like Chelsea. Chances are, however, it won’t cost you anything to visit the training facility and watch the club practice, which is truly fascinating for any footy fan.
