Creating the Perfect Baby Gift Basket

1

If you’re getting ready to attend a baby shower for a friend, or you know someone who has just had a baby, you can create a great gift by putting together a baby gift basket containing an assortment of delightful gifts for your friend or relatives new baby. Baby gift baskets are fun and easy to put together. You will have almost as much fun assembling the gift as your friend will have opening it. Here are some ideas for creating themed gift baskets for the new arrival.

Nursery Items

In this gift basket, you can include a mobile for the baby’s crib, along with a layette or changing mat. CD’s with nursery rhymes or soothing classical music make great additions for this type of gift basket.

Toy Basket

You can make a gift basket full of baby toys. This basket can include rattles, crib toys and toys for the baby’s swing or car seat. You could also include a couple of larger toys for when the baby gets a little older.

Feeding Items

This gift basket could include items such as pacifiers, bottles, bibs, spoons and feeding cups. You could even include a few jars of baby food.

Bath Items

This gift basket works great when packaged up right inside the baby bathtub. Throw in some baby towels, baby shampoo, baby powder, a brush and comb set and some tub toys.

Other items that make nice additions to baby gift baskets are board books, baby cookies, baby announcements, small picture frames and photo albums. You can also add items that are intended for the parents, such as gourmet food or wine. If the occasion is religious in nature, a small Bible or other item of religious significance might be appropriate.

Regardless of what you put inside the gift basket, you need to make it look good. The way a gift is presented often makes a big difference in the way the recipient feels about it. Choose a nice-looking basket and arrange your gift items in an attractive manner. You may need to use some filling material in the bottom of the basket to bring your gifts up to the top of the basket so they can be seen more easily. A baby blanket in the bottom of the basket can accomplish this task as well as adding another gift to the basket. You can wrap your gift basket in cellophane and tie it up with bows, or just decorate it with ruffles and bows and leave off the plastic. Either way, your friend is sure to be delighted by your thoughtfulness.
